Redistricting maps are out! On February 15 at noon, the MN Courts released the maps created to equalize population among Minnesota Congressional and Legislative districts. The old-Senate District 57 is the new-Senate District 56. We'll still be using this www.sd57dfl.org website for a while though, so you can keep checking here.
We don't have exact boundaries on the new district yet, nor know exactly who is in the new district. But we do know that the new district includes all of Apple Valley, most of Rosemount, and parts of Eagan's precincts 14 and 16, which border Apple Valley or Rosemount. You can see the MN House/Senate map for yourself here. Welcome to all in the new Senate District 56!
What now? Our Central Committee meets the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. via Zoom. If you don't receive a meeting notice and would like to attend, please contact Nancy at [email protected].
Our new-Senate District 56 Convention will be held Saturday, April 23 at 10 a.m. at Rosemount Middle School. Pre-convention committees and their convenor(s) have been appointed - Arrangements: John Corcoran, Marcy Woodruff - Constitution and Rules: Nancy Stroessner - Credentials: Susan Bergquist, Ken Wilson - Nominations: Janet Rohlf, Frank Sachs - Resolutions: Bill Middlecamp - Tech Support: Bill Middlecamp
Everyone who signed up (checked the box on the Precinct Caucus Non-Attendee form) to be a delegate or alternate to the Senate District convention will be a convention delegate. All new-Senate District 56 convention delegates will receive a convention notice via a USPS postcard in early April, as well as via email. If you're not sure whether you are a delegate to the SD56 convention, please email Nancy at [email protected].
Precinct Chairs and Vice Chairs will be elected by our Central Committee at a Central Committee meeting subsequent to our March 22 meeting.
